1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how TinyPlay handles information when you use the TinyPlay tvOS application, website, and related services. TinyPlay is designed to play media from sources that you choose. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use TinyPlay for advertising tracking.
2. Information TinyPlay does not collect
TinyPlay does not require you to create a TinyPlay account. The tvOS application does not collect personal data for tracking or advertising, and it does not include third-party advertising analytics.
3. Information stored on your device
TinyPlay may store information locally on your device so that it can work as expected, such as:
- your app preferences, language choice, playback settings, and engine selection;
- the media sources and server addresses that you choose to configure; and
- credentials or access tokens needed to connect to those sources.
Credentials and access tokens are stored using the platform's secure credential storage where available. You can remove locally stored configuration by using the app's reset or delete controls, or by removing TinyPlay from your device.
4. Connections to your media sources
When you connect TinyPlay to an Emby, Jellyfin, Plex, SMB, WebDAV, IPTV, or other source, TinyPlay sends requests directly to the address and service you configure. The source may receive your network address, credentials, playback requests, and other information required to answer those requests. The source provider's own privacy policy controls its handling of that information.
TinyPlay does not upload your personal media library to TinyPlay. Media playback and source access occur between your device and the sources you select, subject to the behavior of those sources and your network.
5. Website technical information
When you visit the TinyPlay website, the hosting provider may process standard technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as an IP address, request time, browser details, and basic error logs. TinyPlay does not use this information to build advertising profiles or track you across unrelated websites.
6. How information is used
Information handled by TinyPlay is used to provide playback, connect to the sources you request, remember your local preferences, maintain security, respond to support requests, and improve reliability. We do not use your media titles, library contents, or source credentials for advertising.
7. Sharing
TinyPlay may share information only when needed to operate the service, protect security, comply with law, or respond to a request you make. We do not sell personal information. When you choose a third-party media source, your requests are shared with that source because it is necessary to provide the playback or browsing feature you requested.
8. Retention and deletion
Local preferences and source configuration remain on your device until you remove them, reset TinyPlay, or uninstall the application. If you contact us by email, we retain the correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond, provide support, and maintain appropriate records.
9. Children's privacy
TinyPlay is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to provide consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when TinyPlay changes or when legal requirements change. The current version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
